Powerbook Pismo G3 Power light and DVD drive don't work

The hard drive on my Pismo recently died and I had it replaced. The computer works but now the Power light, power button light and DVD drive don't light up or work. Any idea why?

G5, Mac OS X (10.4.10)

Welcome to the Discussions.

The power button is not lighted although it appears as though it might be.

The little green light to which you refer is the sleep light; you should see this light "pulse" only when the powerbook is asleep and no other time.

There is no light on the DVD's faceplate; the little hole next to the eject button is for manually ejecting a CD/DVD with an opened paperclip.

Since the powerbook seems to work well, your HD replacement appears to have been successful.
